When Life Happens
Shilabati's Story of Resilience
From the suburbs of Purulia district of West Bengal, a hope flickered in the eyes of Shilabati Rajwar when she got to know about a way to overcome her financial burden. Having completed her studies till class 12, she brimmed with hope for independence and pursue her dream in working in the health sector, however fate took a turn when owing to the family’s financial status and being a daughter of a daily wage labourer, she was married off early.Â
Life became standstill and she immersed herself in her new life, away from her aspirations. However, Shilabati mentioned “ One always gets what’s one is destined for”. So, was in her case, when she broke away from the shackles of her trembling marriage after divorce and got associated with Peerless Skill Academy as a student of GDA.
Shilabati believed that working in patient care would allow her to support society while achieving financial independence. When she started training at the Purulia Ramakrishna Mission, she inculcated essential skills in the areas of – Patient Care, Bedside Assistance, Elderly Care Support and Professional Discipline and Communication.
Having successfully completed her training, she secured her first employment at TriBeCa Care as a Home Care Assistant with an average monthly salary if ₹24, 000.

What began as a dream, with rightful, focused guidance she now transformed her stature and became the supporting pillar of her family. The stability she brought showed us how skills and proper guidance can be the transforming force in one’s life.
Shilabati today stands as the symbol of women empowerment, inspiring several women and individuals to be determined, upskill and be the change in the society
